Safeguarding Statement
Our Commitment
At Eductor Limited, we are committed to providing a safe and positive learning environment for all our students. We believe that all children and young people have the right to be protected from abuse, neglect, and harm. Our safeguarding policy applies to all our activities, both online and in-person, and is based on a fundamental commitment to the welfare and best interests of the children we work with.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
Stephen Donoho, the owner and operator of Eductor Limited, is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). They have undertaken comprehensive safeguarding training through the NSPCC, which is widely recognised as the gold standard for safeguarding training. This ensures that the DSL is equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to identify, respond to, and report any safeguarding concerns.
Our Policy
Our Safeguarding Policy is a live document that is reviewed and updated regularly to reflect best practices and current legislation. It outlines our procedures for:
Responding to Concerns: How to identify signs of abuse or neglect and the steps to take if a concern is raised.
Reporting: The clear and immediate channels for reporting concerns to the appropriate authorities.
Safer Practice: Our code of conduct for all tutors, which is designed to maintain professional boundaries and ensure a safe tutoring environment.
Our Reporting Procedure
In the event of a safeguarding concern, our tutors are required to follow a clear procedure:
Report to the DSL: All concerns, no matter how small, must be reported to the DSL, Stephen Donoho. This ensures all information is managed by one central, trained individual.
Contact the Relevant Local Authority: If the DSL determines that a concern meets the reporting threshold, they will contact the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) or the equivalent service in the child’s local authority.
TTA as a Second Point of Contact: In addition to this, we belong to the The Tutors' Association's (TTA), and subscribe to their Code of Practice and Child Protection Guidance. TTA’s own Safeguarding Team acts as a second point of contact in safeguarding matters. Clients can contact the TTA Safeguarding Team at safeguarding@thetutorsassociation.org.uk for advice and guidance, or to raise a concern about Eductor Limited.
We are dedicated to working in partnership with parents/guardians, schools, and other agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of every child we tutor.
