Explain two ways in which the belief in God’s mercy influences Muslims today. [4 marks]

Belief in Allah’s mercy gives some Muslims hope for the afterlife.

They believe that Allah’s mercy is overwhelming, so they can never fall too far from Islam to repent and return.

Belief in Allah’s mercy also inspires some Muslims to show mercy to others.

They believe that Allah is merciful to those who show mercy, so they forgive people who have wronged them.
