• Muslims give zakah to show their total submission to Allah.

• It reminds them that that their wealth ultimately belongs to Allah, and only came to them through Allah’s favour and grace.

• They also give give zakah to strengthen their community.

• It reminds the wealthy to look after the poor, and gives the poor the resources to improve their own lives.
