Explain two ways in which believing that God is loving influences Christians today. [4 marks]

• Believing that God is loving causes some Christians to act with love towards their neighbours.

• This is because they believe that ‘God is love’ (I John 4. 8), and so by loving their neighbour they become more like God.

• It also causes them to put their faith in Jesus.

• They believe that ‘God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life’ (John 3. 16), so by putting their faith in Jesus they will be saved.
