Buddhist Worship (Puja)
Explain two different ways Buddhists perform pūjā in the temple. [4 marks]
One way Buddhists perform pūjā in the temple is by prostrating themselves before a Buddharūpa (statue of the Buddha).
This is because he taught them the dharma, and they want to show their respect.
Another way Buddhists perform pūjā in the temple is by placing cut flowers on the altar.
These flowers will wilt, which reminds them of anicca (impermanence), one of the Three Marks of Existence.
